Legendary FET Compression. Unprecedented Analog Realism.

Meet fetCO-76 — the next evolution of the legendary 1176-style FET compressor.

There are countless compressors inspired by classic analog hardware. Some capture the aggressive compression. Others approximate the familiar character. But truly recreating the sound of a legendary hardware compressor requires something far more sophisticated than simply matching its controls.

Introducing fetCO-76 by Analog Legends — a meticulously developed FET compressor plugin built to deliver the unmistakable punch, energy, musicality, and tonal richness that have made classic 1176-style compression an essential part of professional recording for decades.

At its heart is our proprietary Dynamic Tonality Engine™ (DTE), an advanced analog tonal modeling system originally introduced in our acclaimed Legend Channel plugin. By bringing hardware-derived tonal characteristics, harmonic textures, and responsive drive behavior together with expressive FET compression, this FET compressor plugin delivers an extraordinary level of realism while offering creative control that goes far beyond the original hardware.

The goal was simple: create the most authentic, most musical, and best-sounding 1176-style compressor plugin we’ve ever experienced.

From intimate vocals to explosive drums, aggressive rap performances to polished mix buses, this FET compressor plugin gives you the legendary sound of classic FET compression — with an entirely new level of depth and control.

The Difference Is in the Details. Dynamic Tonality Engine™

Authentic analog sound is about far more than gain reduction.

The magic of classic analog hardware lives in the subtle details. The way a signal’s frequency balance changes as it moves through the circuit. The harmonic richness that develops as the hardware is driven. The distinctive midrange character, low-frequency weight, and texture that can make a recording sound larger, more present, and more alive.

Traditional compressor emulations often focus primarily on reproducing the compression envelope. But matching attack and release behavior is only part of the sonic equation.

That’s why we developed Dynamic Tonality Engine™.

Originally pioneered in Analog Legends’ Legend Channel, DTE takes a detailed approach to recreating hardware-derived tonal behavior. In this FET compressor plugin, it allows the tonal balance, harmonic characteristics, and operating intensity of the modeled hardware to be shaped with exceptional precision.

Instead of relying on a generic saturation effect to simulate analog warmth, DTE provides a dedicated tonal modeling system with independent control over the elements that contribute to the sound.

Experience the richness of hardware-inspired harmonic coloration, the weight of classic analog circuitry, and the unmistakable energy of FET compression — all working together as one cohesive processor.

And when you want to move beyond the original character, DTE gives you the freedom to push those tonal characteristics further.

Three FET Compressor Plugin Models

Why settle for a single analog character when you can explore three distinct tonal personalities?

This FET compressor plugin includes three carefully developed DTS tonal models, each offering a different sonic identity:

VINTAGE — Classic Analog Character

Experience the hardware-derived personality of a classic FET compressor. Vintage provides the familiar coloration, weight, harmonic texture, and tonal attitude associated with traditional analog compression. Perfect when you want that unmistakable old-school character.

MODERN — Refined Stereo Hardware Character

Derived from a newer stereo hardware design, Modern offers an alternative tonal balance and character. An excellent starting point for contemporary production where punch, clarity, definition, and analog personality need to work together.

LEGACY — The Original fetCO Sound

Rediscover the original fetCO tonal personality. Legacy offers another distinct flavor for creative comparisons, established workflows, and discovering the perfect sound for your material.

Switch between all three models and discover how each interacts with your recordings. From subtle tonal differences to more pronounced changes in texture and presence, every model offers another way to shape your sound.

Unleash the Full Power of Analog Color

The original hardware gave engineers a remarkable sound with a relatively simple set of controls. This FET compressor plugin preserves that immediate, hands-on workflow while introducing a level of tonal customization that traditional hardware simply cannot offer.

DTE DRIVE — Control the Intensity

Push the modeled tonal circuitry harder or ease it back with an independent Drive control ranging from -18 dB to +18 dB. Introduce additional analog attitude, harmonic excitement, and sonic density while retaining your desired compressor sensitivity.

DTE TONE — Shape the Tonal Signature

Fine-tune the contribution of the modeled hardware’s tonal characteristics from 0% to 200%. Retain the reference hardware-derived balance at 100%, reduce its influence for a subtler sound, or exaggerate its character for creative sound design.

DTE HARMONICS — Dial In the Texture

Control the richness and intensity of the modeled harmonic contribution independently from tonal balance. Add subtle analog texture, enhanced density, or more aggressive harmonic character with a range extending to 200%.

DTE CHARACTER — Total Tonal Control

Adjust the overall amount of modeled analog coloration without changing your compression settings. Blend the hardware character into the background or push it beyond its original reference intensity.

TONE ONLY — Analog Color Without Compression

Love the sound of the hardware but don’t need additional gain reduction? Activate Tone Only mode and use this FET compressor plugin as a dedicated analog-style tonal processor. Preserve the dynamics of your recording while exploring the harmonic texture and tonal personality of the selected model.

Complete control over compression and analog coloration — independently, or together.

The Legendary Speed, Punch & Attitude of FET Compression

There is a reason classic FET compressors have been used on some of the most celebrated recordings in music history.

Their extraordinarily fast response, aggressive attitude, and ability to bring sounds forward in a mix have made them indispensable on vocals, drums, bass, guitars, and countless other sources.

This FET compressor plugin brings that familiar workflow into your DAW with responsive, musical controls designed for everything from subtle dynamic shaping to aggressive, character-filled compression.

Classic Compression Ratios

Choose between 4:1, 8:1, 12:1, and 20:1 compression ratios. Whether you’re gently controlling a vocal or aggressively shaping drum transients, this FET compressor plugin provides the range to handle it.

ALL Mode — Unleash the Aggression

Explore a distinctive, more aggressive compression character inspired by the creative tradition of all-buttons-style FET compression. Ideal for explosive room microphones, parallel drums, aggressive effects, and larger-than-life textures.

Lightning-Fast Attack & Release

Precisely shape the front edge and recovery of your material using the familiar 1-7 timing controls. Preserve the initial impact of a snare, tighten vocal peaks, emphasize sustain, or create the energetic movement that makes FET compression so addictive.

Classic Fixed-Threshold Workflow

Drive the FET compressor plugin with Input, set the response using Ratio, Attack, and Release, then balance the processed level with Output. Immediate, intuitive, and unmistakably familiar to engineers who love the original hardware.
